The University of Applied Sciences of Berlin (HTW) is considered one of the ten best of its kind in Germany. The HTW offers a wide range of programs in five departments covering the fields of engineering, computer science, economics, culture and design. The traditional study of applied sciences, such as Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, is combined with more modern and innovative studies, such as Information Technology, Construction and Renewable Energy.

At this University, foreign language training is an integral part of the experience of each student. Students can choose from a wide range of foreign language courses, offered at all levels.

The HTW also promotes research through innovative development and cultural projects. Issues related to the Information Society, new sources of energy and environmental problems are all explored in these courses. Beyond the research itself, the HTW focuses on the promotion and creation of businesses and efforts to increase their competitiveness.
