Madrid, September 29th 2012.
This afternoon, after the announcement of the awards of the four remaining contests, CANOPEA house of RHÔNE ALPES team has won SDE 2012 competition.
This house proposes an urban scale project to answer current issues about density in the alpine corridor. They came up a “Nanotower” concept for this situation: small towers housing an individual house each floor. The top floor hosts a common laundry, a summer kitchen and a relaxing place for all community and gardens and storage boxes (Futher information attached).
Very close in the ranking, in second place the Spanish ANDALUCÍA TEAM with PATIO 2.12. The third prize went to the Italian MED IN ITALY.

In this closing ceremony, the out of contest “Public choice Award” granted by KÖMMERLING was given to:  Andalucía Team, with Patio 2.12 was the most voted house by the Villa Solar visitors. EHU Team (País Vasco) on the other hand was the team with more online votes.

Finally, the Public Choice Award combining both votes was given to Andalucía Team.
The Villa Solar will remain opened, free of charge, one more day, to give the opportunity to last visit these innovative and awarded houses.
